Lucas Baume grew up in Le Brasus, vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Already as a small child, he was fascinated by extreme sports, those which allowed him to leave the ground and fly in the air….
At the age of six, he stepped on a skateboard, and discovered the fun of this sport and showed a great perseverance and tenacity to ride in skateparks. At the age of eight, he started competition successfully, being coached by Laurent Golay, a skateboard producer in Le Brassus, the boards of whom he has always greatly appreciated. He even obtained an European vice-championship title in his category in 2008…
Furthermore, the nice winters in the Vallée de Joux and the possibility to fly down the snowy slopes, right after school, allowed him to practice snowboard from seven years on. Later on, he could use the modules of the snow park of l'Orient, to get initiated to "jib" sessions, which he greatly appreciated.
Hesitating between these two sports, he gave finally the priority to snowboard, since he could benefit of a professional sportive structure in the "sport-gymnasium" in Davos. In the "Swiss-snowboard" federation, he entered the "C" level since this year.
